Beach Bum West-O

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this establishment. The accommodations were exceptionally clean, despite the exterior's somewhat weathered appearance. While the building may not be aesthetically striking from the outside, it possesses a certain charm. We particularly appreciated the opportunity to go crabbing directly from the dock, and the presence of a small playground was a delightful addition. The availability of a van to transport guests to the beach was also a convenient feature. The office provided a wealth of information regarding local activities. The horse island, with its admission fee of $25.00 per carload and a 7-day pass, seemed like a very appealing option. Furthermore, the abundance of crab restaurants in the vicinity was certainly a plus. The only minor drawback was that daily room cleaning was not provided. For those planning frequent beach visits, it might be advisable to bring a small sweeper and dustpan to manage the sand. Additionally, bringing your own towels is recommended, as the ones provided are somewhat rough and of a more economical quality.

I recommend this hotel. It's off the strip along the boardwalk in a quiet location, which is a plus. There is a nice pier on the water on the property to relax on, lots of benches, and chairs, a playground, a nice pool, grills, fire pits, etc. The grounds are amazing at Beach Bum West. The rooms in the hotel/motel part are decent. They are extremely small. No dresser, no chair. Just a bed, a piece of wood mounted to one side of the bed for a table, a TV mounted to the wall, a table of sorts (extremely small and narrow with two stools that sits directly under the TV, which is about 2 feet in front of the bed. It's a small unit. There is a little refrigerator and microwave, which is very nice, and a decently sized bathroom. They are very clean. This is our 3rd time staying here. I am super funny about staying in clean places, and we also travel on a budget. With that being said, staying here 3 times is saying a lot for me. If you're okay with a small room, you will LOVE the grounds and the peacefulness at night once you leave the beach and boardwalk for the day. The price is decent. If you're on the fence, I would definitely give it a try! It's a 5 minute drive to the inlet/beach. Plus, they have a free shuttle in case you plan to drink, or don't feel like driving. They provide a free ride over the boardwalk and back. Also, parking is included. Something that isn't always the case around here. And they have plenty. You never have to worry about parking, no matter how late you return to your room. Very satisfied with this week's stay and will definitely be back a 4th time!!

Another thing- the rooms have plenty of outlets on both sides of bed and even in the bathroom.

This property also has cabins for rent. You can rent rooms in their hotel/motel style buildings or their stand-alone cabins that come with assigned parking, personal grill, fire pit. We've never rented a cabin, but they look great!! All rooms, whether hotel room or cabin have A/C. The cabins have screened in porches. It's like renting a little house for vacation.

Also, if someone has a canoe or paddle board, the water area around this property is PERFECT for those types of water sports.

I really can't say enough positive things about this hotel. If you're unsure about anything I'm saying, I would say go to the property and see for yourself. You can split your time between having fun down on the boardwalk and beach and come back to a quiet retreat on the water, grilling and sitting around a fire in the evening.

All the staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The stay was very quiet, and it's location is only a few minutes drive from the Ocean City Beach area. Our room was very clean and the grounds felt like a family style campground. Our family loved our stay and would definitely recommend this location.
